Paddle Pick HQ is a gear-review resource run by a pickleball player who got tired of buying paddles based on marketing hype.
When I started playing, every paddle review seemed to say the same thing: "amazing feel, tons of power, you'll love it." None of them told me what I actually needed to know — is this paddle too stiff for a beginner's elbow? Is the grip going to feel like a baseball bat if I have small hands? Will it be legal for tournament play?
So I started doing the homework myself: reading manufacturer spec sheets, comparing what independent reviewers and coaches actually said, and digging through player feedback from people who'd put real hours on the paddles. Paddle Pick HQ is where I publish that homework.
What we do — and what we don't
- We research paddles thoroughly: specs, expert reviews, and player feedback.
- We tell you who each paddle is not for, not just who it's for.
- We keep our roundups updated as models change and new information comes out.
- We don't claim to have personally tested paddles we haven't played with — when a conclusion comes from research, we say so.
- We don't run fake reviews, paid rankings, or manufactured testimonials.
- We don't chase every new release. We cover the paddles players actually ask about.
